John Joined Musicteam in 2001, becoming Managing Director and Principal musician of Musicteam in 2008. Since then he has gone on to build a sizeable client base across the UK, employing expert singers and musicians of all styles and musical backgrounds. John's expertise in music provision can be found in his extensive work with residents who may one or a combination of the following; Alzheimer's, dementia, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, mental health recovery and vulnerable people.

He discusses the benefits of the music sessions; "Music sessions are as important a part of the week as any other activity. From toddlers discovering music for the first time in our nursery school sessions, through to the sheer nostalgia generated when an elderly resident hears their favourite song at one of our care home music sessions, the benefits both to health and wellbeing from from our music sessions mean music will always be a part of our lives and those with whom we share so many music sessions each and every week".

Through fundraising campaigns across the UK, Musicteam continue to support the organisations they work for. They have helped to raise funds for equipment such as musical instruments, minibuses, and disability adaptations.

John remains in contact with all residents and staff teams that Musicteam visit and continues to attend for the music sessions both North and South, enjoying meeting up with old friends and of course meeting new ones.
